Do you have lots of lights on your bike when you ride in the dark?

I have a bright one on the front and a bright red one on the back. I don't mess with cheapy ones anymore. The ones I have are good and bright and keep me very visible.

  4. RUN
    good Chevron 5.02 mi 00:45 08:53 pace

Out with 2 friends and passing 500 miles for the calendar year! This will be my lowest total for a year in about 7 years thanks to some injuries and just a busier than normal work year.

I barely got over 500 as well, which is twice as much as last year. That stupid marathon I did two years ago really zapped me. Hope the injuries go away in 2017. Glad work is going well.

  5. VELO
good Long cold ride 26 mi 01:40 15.6mph pace

About 27 degrees when I woke up so our ride time got pushed back to 8:45. Warm in the sun, but cool if you're not. Once warmed up I never felt cold on the ride, but I was pretty bundled up and... read more

  6. RUN
good Fostoria in reverse 4.53 mi 00:40 08:54 pace

A damp morning but no real rain fell on us. Ran in a group of 4 today for the first time in a long time. Decided to get real crazy and run one of our routs in reverse.

  7. VELO
good Up Mt Diablo...and down 20.9 mi 02:24 8.7mph pace

My first time making the climb all the way to the summit of Mt Diablo. Felling very good about my fitness level to do that. Then there was a very cold ride down.

Did your hands start to cramp up, too, with all the braking coming back down the hill? Mine always do!

My neck and back were the problem this day. I usually don't have any issues like that but I just slept the wrong way the night before. Going up was fine being able to change hand positions throughout the climb, but coming down on the brakes the whole time really tweaked my neck and back. I paid for it the rest of the day.

Yeah, many people don't realize that descending Mt. Diablo can be a problem, too. Sorry about your neck/back. Hope you feel better now.

  8. RUN
good Wet roads 4.84 mi 00:43 08:56 pace

Overnight low temps jumped up 20 degrees with this warm jetstream from Hawaii. 54 today but wet from rain overnight. No drops on us as we ran this morning.

  9. Hello DailyMile friends. After I finish out 2016 with posting my workouts here, I think I'm done with DailyMile. Between Garmin, Strava and Facebook, DM is really seeming unneeded. In fact, it... read more

@trent, Strava is an app for logging runs, bikes or swims. It plays really nicely with Garmin, or you can use their smartphone app. Their site is somewhat social and automatically keeps track of your personal bests on certain segments of your routes and the traditional distances. Not sure why the facebook link isn't working from DailyMile, but I noticed as well.

  10. RUN
    good Fostoria 5.04 mi 00:47 09:25 pace

32 degrees out this morning. Too cold for biking but pretty good running weather if you can get out of bed when it's dark and cold.

  11. VELO
good Finley Rd Mt. Diablo 8 mi 01:19 6.1mph pace

Two days in a row of mountain biking. Another cold start to the morning but sunny and clear. Almost turned around because of some adjustments my bike needs, but ended up making the full ride. Now I... read more

  12. VELO
good Pleasanton Ridge Mountain Biking 10 mi 01:13 8.2mph pace

Great cold morning. Sunny and clear in the Bay Area. Lots of climbing followed by lots of downhill. I only went over the bars once.

  13. RUN
good Windy run 4.8 mi 00:44 09:07 pace

I woke up expecting temps in the 30's but it was 49 out. I even triple checked. Once I stepped outside I found out why. It was very windy and that always keeps the temps up around here.

  14. RUN
good Too cold to bike 4.14 mi 00:38 09:04 pace

This whole week it will be in the low to mid 30's in the morning so we're switching to running. Great running weather.

  15. FIT
    good Core plus Spin 01:30

3 stations of core strength fitness tonight followed by 40 minutes of spin. I made it through all core exercises twice, so I guess that's 6 stations.

  16. FIT
    good Solo workout 00:45

Up in the mountains and while 14" of snow fell last night, my resort still can not open anything but the bunny slope, so I went to my local gym and made up my own core routine. Free weights, b... read more

  17. RUN
good My own private Turkey Trot 5.03 mi 00:47 09:20 pace

I came in first place in my AG and first place overall! But I also came in last place, and I didn't get a t-shirt or a medal. Happy Thanksgiving to you all!

  18. VELO
good Foggy Dublin ride 13.46 mi 00:48 16.8mph pace

I needed wipers on my glasses today the fog was so thick.

  19. RUN
good Chevron Loop 4.87 mi 00:44 09:00 pace

36 degrees out this morning, but great weather for a run with a couple of friends. Gloves and a hat made their first appearance of the season.

  20. VELO
good Moutain bike morning 5.66 mi 00:46 7.5mph pace

Cold morning, but great for climbing. Had nearly 800 feet of elevation gain on this ride. Loving my new mountain bike.
