Well, I can still run. I needed that. My foot is still not better but I was able to adjust my strike as not to aggravate it. I'll need to take it slow.

great Compeau Trail, Chena River St... 14 mi 06:00 25:42 pace
My first hike of the season. This is an ATV track so it wasn't particularly difficult, though still quite muddy in parts. My legs and feet (I wore my Trail Gloves) were pretty sore by the en... read more

Foot's still not feeling so good, so I took my bike out instead for the first time since last summer. Kind of painful, ha ha. Super windy out too.

blah 3.02 mi 00:27 08:46 pace
After about 1.5 miles my right foot decided to rebel. Could be plantar fasciitis? I remember getting it about a year ago when I first started running. But I got through a whole year (including tw... read more

RUN
good Goldstream Rd 4.4 mi 00:39 08:47 pace
Finally got a run in, haha. Nothing too fast or difficult. I found a paved path I had never noticed before, though I'm certain I've run right by it dozens of times.

Finally a day when I found both the time and the motivation to run...and I forgot my shorts at home! Oh well. Maybe this evening.

My first race of the season and it was superb. The sun came out just in time, I beat my personal target (7:25 average pace), and I beat Beethoven (so a free symphony ticket!). I've never don... read more

Fast run on dry roads. Returned to a bubbling pot of pea soup :)

RUN
good Goldstream Road 4 mi 00:34 08:25 pace
Had enough of my lazy Saturday; forced myself to leave the house ;p. Lots of black ice on the road so I mostly ran on the snowy shoulder.

Look at how speedy you were, even with slippery conditions. You're going to be so ready for the summer running season.

I appreciate the comments, thanks! I think the hardest part is going to be keeping this up and making it into a routine. So easy to convince myself that I'm too busy to run.

RUN
good 3.77 mi 00:30 08:02 pace
Windy in Fairbanks today. I managed a decent pace though. This is a good distance (3-4 mi) for now. I'm thinking about doing the Beat Beethoven 5k race in April.

RUN
good UAF campus 3.41 mi 00:34 09:49 pace
A bit slower than I wanted but still a good run. Lots of snow, they hadn't cleared the sidewalks yet so I ran on the roads.

Thanks. It's feeling somewhat better today (I iced it yesterday and that seemed to help a lot) but I think I'll still rest it for a few more days at least.
