  1. RUN
good Willow Run 2.5 mi 00:23 09:11 pace

Well, I can still run. I needed that. My foot is still not better but I was able to adjust my strike as not to aggravate it. I'll need to take it slow.

  2. FIT
great Compeau Trail, Chena River St... 14 mi 06:00 25:42 pace

My first hike of the season. This is an ATV track so it wasn't particularly difficult, though still quite muddy in parts. My legs and feet (I wore my Trail Gloves) were pretty sore by the en... read more

  3. VELO
good Goldstream Rd 6.85 mi 00:42 9.7mph pace

Foot's still not feeling so good, so I took my bike out instead for the first time since last summer. Kind of painful, ha ha. Super windy out too.

  4. RUN
    blah 3.02 mi 00:27 08:46 pace

After about 1.5 miles my right foot decided to rebel. Could be plantar fasciitis? I remember getting it about a year ago when I first started running. But I got through a whole year (including tw... read more

Thanks. It's feeling somewhat better today (I iced it yesterday and that seemed to help a lot) but I think I'll still rest it for a few more days at least.

  5. RUN
good College Rd 4.01 mi 00:32 07:59 pace

Run in the rain; went to pick up my car from service.

  6. RUN
good Goldstream Rd 4.4 mi 00:39 08:47 pace

Finally got a run in, haha. Nothing too fast or difficult. I found a paved path I had never noticed before, though I'm certain I've run right by it dozens of times.

  7. Finally a day when I found both the time and the motivation to run...and I forgot my shorts at home! Oh well. Maybe this evening.

  8. RUN
great Beat Beethoven 5k Race 3.19 mi 00:23 07:10 pace

My first race of the season and it was superb. The sun came out just in time, I beat my personal target (7:25 average pace), and I beat Beethoven (so a free symphony ticket!). I've never don... read more

  9. RUN
    good Goldstream/Nugget 6.19 mi 00:54 08:39 pace

Grey and snowy afternoon. Wasn't feeling up for anything particularly fast, just wanted to run :).

  10. RUN
good Goldstream Rd 3.55 mi 00:27 07:28 pace

Fast run on dry roads. Returned to a bubbling pot of pea soup :)

  11. RUN
good Goldstream Road 4 mi 00:34 08:25 pace

Had enough of my lazy Saturday; forced myself to leave the house ;p. Lots of black ice on the road so I mostly ran on the snowy shoulder.

Look at how speedy you were, even with slippery conditions. You're going to be so ready for the summer running season.

I appreciate the comments, thanks! I think the hardest part is going to be keeping this up and making it into a routine. So easy to convince myself that I'm too busy to run.

  12. RUN
great Goldstream Rd 3.01 mi 00:23 07:46 pace

First run of the year in shorts and t-shirt. I guess spring is here!

  13. RUN
great Goldstream Valley 3.55 mi 00:35 09:51 pace

Slow but tough run through the snow. Felt great to get back into it. Gotta get ready for the Beat Beethoven 5k on April 14th.

  14. RUN
    alright UAF 3.51 mi 00:28 07:55 pace

This one tired me out; didn't go quite as far as I wanted (4mi).

  15. RUN
    good UAF 3.15 mi 00:25 07:47 pace

Good Sunday afternoon run after a week without. Almost warm enough to not need my second layer.

  16. RUN
great UAF campus 3.93 mi 00:30 07:41 pace

It's been a while... but was a beautiful day today and I was itching to run! Went well, though I went kinda fast and my legs are a bit sore now.

  17. RUN
    good 3.77 mi 00:30 08:02 pace

Windy in Fairbanks today. I managed a decent pace though. This is a good distance (3-4 mi) for now. I'm thinking about doing the Beat Beethoven 5k race in April.

  18. RUN
    good UAF 3.48 mi 00:30 08:29 pace

Finally "warm" enough to run, haha. I know people go colder but I think my cutoff is -20°F.

  19. RUN
great UAF campus 3.76 mi 00:34 08:57 pace

This one felt really good. Mostly pain-free and I managed a faster pace.

  20. RUN
good UAF campus 3.41 mi 00:34 09:49 pace

A bit slower than I wanted but still a good run. Lots of snow, they hadn't cleared the sidewalks yet so I ran on the roads.
