Look up the SBDU. There is an international distance one: 10k 40k 5k or a sprint 2 mile 10 mile 2 mile. I'm still not sure which i'm doing.

Tried running in compression socks to see if it helps the calf issues. The answer is sort of.

I use them when I'm sore. I have two types. The tighter ones are better. I race in them sometimes as well. Do you own a "stick" That always helps me out as well.

The stick works pretty well but it is better if you talk someone else into rolling out your calves for you.

Thanks Martin. My paces are a result of hanging on for dear life with the fast group I ride with. On this ride I was with the main group for about 1/3rd of the ride before a few of us splintered off and chilled.

Quads were burning on the hills.
Started off with the lead group and let them go at Uvas Dam. Just swept up by the b-roll about 1/2 way through Uvas.
