      The cross training is a good idea, particularly if the injury is a running overuse issue. I've had issues with my right (non-dominant) IT band/knee, but have seen marked improvement since adding a routine that includes many reps of squats and lunges three days a week for the last couple of years. The main idea is to strengthen complementary muscles that provide support to the knee.

      Thanks, Dave. It's so frustrating, but I just need to take it one day at a time and know the time off from running right now Is the best thing for my knee.
