  1. swim
    Lunch Swim 2000 yd

Trying to fit in what I can. 4 x 500 was all I had time for today.

  2. RUN
    Lunch run 6.23 mi 00:53 08:32 pace

    Usual lunchtime route. Nothing special

  3. swim
    YMCA 2300 yd 00:40 30:28 pace

Almost 2 weeks since I have been in the pool. My half iron next month is not going to be pretty. Still, it felt awesome to swim again. I forget how much I actually enjoy it.

  4. RUN
    Greenway 12.01 mi 01:48 08:58 pace

Life has been crazy so I have had to miss a lot of workouts lately. I was finally able to get myself out for a medium long run for the first time in a couple of weeks.

  5. swim
Making the most of insomnia 2500 yd

I couldn't sleep last night, so I finally said screw it and decided to just get up and hit the pool early. It was surprisingly more crowded than at lunch. The workout was 5 x 500.

  6. swim
    Time trial 1650 yd

I haven't done this in a long time, so I thought today would be a good time to see how fast I can swim 1000 yards. I did 6 x 100 to warm up. Somehow my Garmin missed 5 laps. It has dropped ... read more

  7. swim
    YMCA 1500 yd

It's a cutback week, so my workouts are not quite as structured as usual. I just did 7 x 200 and then a fast 100.

  8. RUN
    Hot again 14.01 mi 02:14 09:35 pace

It was another ridiculously hot day in Georgia. I decided to try to get out early enough to beat some of the heat. Gail N. was running 18 today so we met up at the Greenway. We didn't even ... read more

Indeed we survived, though, and the iced Nuun and conversation helped a lot. I'll bet the next long run doesn't hurt quite as much because of this one (and hopefully because it'll be cooler too). :-) Thanks for keeping me company! Great job.

Nice to have a running partner in those conditions. Great job pushing through!

  9. swim
    Early morning swim 2400 yd

I have a conference at my child's school this morning, so I made the best of going in late to work and got my swim out of the way. I still hate early morning workouts.

Nice start to the day even if it was early in the morning. I am not a morning person but oddly I like early morning workouts. When I am able to get my lazy butt out of bed I always like the actual workouts.

  10. RUN
Just Plain Hot 7.18 mi 01:02 08:39 pace

I had to push my usual lunch run off until after work. 95F when I started. It was originally supposed to be a tempo pace. Not happening in that heat, so I just ran whatever I could manage. Pace ... read more

    Second part of my ride

    Trainer ride: part 1 9.1 mi 00:30 18.0mph pace

For some reason my Garmin cut off at 30 minutes, so the ride is split into 2 workouts. Watched a couple of episodes of Walking Dead in the basement

  13. swim
    Time crunched 2000 yd

I have maybe 40 minutes to swim at lunch if I'm lucky, so I'm just going to stick to the long sets and make the most of the time. Today was 2 x 1000.

  14. RUN
    Lunch run 6.24 mi 00:54 08:41 pace

Ah - legs seem to be almost back to normal today. I added another little road on my route from the office and, big surprise, yet another big-assed hill.

  15. swim
    YMCA 2500 yd

The Y's swim team took up 4 of 6 lanes, but fortunately there was only one other person doing laps. Still feel slow in the pool, but a little better each team.

Sounds like you scored with a bit of luck on the lane availability! Even if you don't feel the pace is there you're still getting in some great distance! Keep it up and it'll come back to you!

  16. RUN
    Recovery run 4.2 mi 00:40 09:31 pace

I forgot my Garmin today, so pace is estimated. I found that my legs were a lot more sore than expected from the long ride/run this weekend. They felt heavy and the pace was never comfortable. I... read more

    Long ride 48.84 mi 02:54 16.8mph pace

  18. RUN
    Long run 14.14 mi 02:15 09:33 pace

First long run for HIM training. I have not run this far since March. I am already feeling fatigue from the ramp up this week, so I kept it at an easy, conversational pace.

  19. VELO
    Trainer 18.5 mi 01:00 18.5mph pace

No time to get outside today, so I did this on the trainer before dinner. Still need to fix my cadence/speed sensor, so pace is estimated.

  20. swim
    Condensed swim 1650 yd

One of the downsides of a new job is that I don't have the flexibility with my lunch schedule to get my full swim in. Hopefully once I have been here a while I can take a little longer, but f... read more
