SWIM MEET! Yardage is estimated and includes warm-up, four events (50 breast, 50 free, 100 IM and 500 free) and warm-down.
Need to get the body back into racing mode, so sprung forward and made the hour drive in the pouring rain. Had heard good things about the pool, and sure enough, it was deep and water temps cool. Ideal race conditions! Well, should've been :P
50 Breast: Floated into the walls instead of attacking them. Bad Chio! Swam next to this guy who is a few years ahead of me and went to a rival HS, but swam under the same coach for a while. Always fun to run into people from back home!
50 Free: Legs were tired and wobbly before the race even began, and I had to prop myself up against the starting block so I wouldn't fall over. Sad! The only positive thing I can say about this event is that I didn't breathe on the way down, and breathed just once on the way back. Time was exactly the same as last week, though. What?!!
50 Fly: Since my legs were nothing more than dead weights, I decided to scratch this event.
100 IM: Swam next to my friend, J. Dang, she has a fast start! Heard her hit the water while I was still in the air :P Usually, I have a stronger back-half, but with my legs being as weak as they were, it was a struggle just to finish. The 100 IM should be nothing but FUN!
500 Free: Had been counting on having a few heats of relays between the 100 IM and the 500 Free, but they decided to cancel the relays due to time constraints. Aiyee! Swam it as a warm-down with no counter. Paid no attention to breathing patterns and turns. Ended up swimming a possible PR. Hahahahaha :D
No post-meet treats today. Not even a slice of pie on Pi Day :(

Wow, sounds like a mixed bag for you! wobbly legs? they should be strong after all that running?! 50free breathing sounds crazy - one breath over the distance... wow! All that hypoxic training paid off huh? funny on the 500 free, so typical - when you're relaxed and take the pressure off - you exceed! Excellent meet, you deserved a treat!

Nice job tackling the swim meet, rubber legs and all! Read the 100 IM blurb "my friend J. Dang..." Would have commented on her having an interesting last name. Then realized Dang started the next sentence. Dang. Sounds like a successful meet, even with the rubber legs, since you got a possible PR! W00t!

100 IM!! And 50s of strokes, so fun! Also, I am very impressed with 50s and a 500 in the same meet--what a mix :)

@aki - thanks - legs were weak *from* all of that hilly running the day before :P yeah, think the hypoxic sets are paying off. just need to get my speed back, and i'll be set! i do swim better when i'm relaxed, but that 500 was beyond relaxed!

@alex - thanks - rubber legs after just one event is downright pathetic! j. dang - haha :D will have to share yr comment with her! the warmdown 500 was a PR by 0:03! :O
@michelle - yeah, it's like 12&u swim meets again! i had a disastrous 500 at a previous meet and needed to redeem myself. but now i feel like i need to swim it once more for a *real* time!
