good Marathon Long Training Run #2 17.5 mi 02:59 10:12 pace

2nd long run leading up to First Light Marathon on 1/9. Route is a 5 mile loop of lower Manhattan, then over the Williamsburg Br, up Bklyn and Queens to the Queensboro Br, and then when back in Manhattan, a detour up 2nd Ave to 85, before heading down 1st Ave home.

Perfect weather conditions. Started at 48, and up to 54, with sunny skies and little wind. Run felt great. No problem with the distance, which is expected 5 weeks out from a marathon. Overall a great training run. While 2 minutes slower than the last time I did this in Feb, it was the 2nd fastest of the 5 times I've done this. It was also 6 minutes faster than the effort 1 month prior to my fastest marathon, so there is still hope for me! Awesome run, sets me up well for my last weeks of training, with 2 planned 20 milers...

I have an 8 hour flight ahead of me tonite to Milan, for business, so I'm hoping getting up early and going on a 3 hour run will help me sleep on the plane, so can work when I arrive tomorrow.
