Wishing I was faster than 9:50 pace per mile, but it is what it is. I'm very happy with the effort and execution in getting this done. Was tough with the humidity. The only thing that allowed me to get through this without stopping was the light rain, and portions that were into the wind.
Less than 2 weeks from the Chicago Marathon. It occurred to me that I am not in taper, because to be in a taper, you need to have had a peak of training to fall back from. :) So, I will keep pushing, and hope to peak on 10-10
EDIT - oh, and the shin felt good today, with the TLC applied!

Hey Brian - Thanks! Not sure about the meetup yet. Will have the wife and kids along for weekend so I need to do some planning first. Will let you know next week.

No problem; the event is family-friendly and clean; a lot people are doing what you're doing and can't really party before race time. Won't need a hard RSVP until 10-7.

I wouldn't push any harder at this point. Your fitness is what it is at this point, you won't gain anything by pushing harder so close. Just my 2 cents. Best of luck! Just remember to keep the mental toughness and get any negative thoughts out of the way.

Your training will leave you fresh for Chicago, you have the experience to draw from and don't underestimate the benefit of all the biking you've done! Great that the back is less problematic than feared, best wishes through the taper!
