Arm and upper body workout to try and help the right elbow. My elbow seems to feel best the day after a good workout, so long as I don't sleep on it improperly. I would really like to get a bike ride in tomorrow morning (ahead of the snow), and hopin... read more

Great run overall. Maybe a little bit overdressed, but I think it was necessary with the wind. Wind seemed to be coming from everywhere, sometimes headwind, sometimes tailwind, sometimes coming across. The consistent tough spots were heading north t... read more

Great miles today, Scott. It must be almost impossible to gauge clothes for bridge runs during cold wind.

Awesome 10 miler Scott. I love how you kept it under 10 min pace for the whole run. Couldn't be easy on the THREE bridges. Nice!

Too many off days this week. Have not been feeling so great due to long run Sat and speedwork Tues, but felt I had to get a run in today, as tomorrow morning may not be good due to the snow. I think a lot of people had the same thought as there were ... read more

Good for you getting in the pool! My swimming form is pathetic but it's such a great workout.

  6. goodSpeed Workout 5 mi

Tonight's speed workout was a 4 miles tempo run around the middle of Central Park. This is by far my least favorite of the workouts, because it is one I can easily do on my own. However, that said, I typically treat this as a race, and run it as fast... read more

It's a VERY respectable time, Scott! I could NEVER run that fast. We are our own worse critics, aren't we? :)

Yes Gina, we definitely are. I guess it is not the time so much that was the problem, but that it was slow relative to the other times I've done the same workout.

  7. Productive night - NOT watching the Grammy's.

Instead, successfully (I hope) installed the Cateye Strada Cadence Cyclocomputer on my bike! Need to find some time to test it out...

  8. goodMarathon Long Run #1 15.8 mi / 02:48 10:36 pace

Great long run! Was cold, topping out at 19 degrees, but I was dressed properly and did not feel too bad. At times on the west side greenway could feel the wind, but otherwise the weather was not a big problem.

This is my first of 4 typical long tra... read more

OK, this is going to be a long one. Was intended to be a ho-hum mid-week 5 mile run, but it turned into one of the best non-race running experiences I've had in a long time.

Let me back up to this morning. I set the alarm early, intending to get up ... read more

Awesome job getting the workout in, even though you had to revise the original plan. Love it when things flip around and the day goes better!
