My first marathon - was a challenge, my time was behind what I wanted to do, but all in all, I'm happy to have accomplished it and ready for the next one!

  2. Just finished the Chicago marathon in 4:30.39. Recovering for a few days - any advice on how long I should take off running?

Congrats on finishing your first marathon!

Typically you're going to want to take it easy for 1-2 weeks post Marathon. Ease back into running. Keep the miles short and easy as you work back into a running routine. If you really want to start working out, it might be a good opportunity to work in some cross-training. Best of luck.

Thanks. Tried to run about 2 today and jogged it VERY slowly - felt weird and weak so think I need a few more days of rest before running again:(
