This was a super-fun post-race party. Good food and beer - and a lot of it. I think, perhaps, a lot of people didn't show up because it was so hot out. Heat index of 99. Had planned to take... read more

alright Muddy Monk Trail Run 4.59 mi 01:08 14:48 pace

Already hot at the start. Didn't think there would be much mud...I was wrong. Uphill, downhill, jumping over logs, running through creeks.

  7. RUN
    good 4 on the 4th (Elmhurst, IL) 4.05 mi 00:44 10:48 pace

Was on track with my virtual pacer for quite a while. And then (s)he just blew past me and I never caught up. My Garmin data shows that my cadence was the problem. I really slowed down at the end... read more

good Washington DC training run 2.82 mi 00:42 15:03 pace

A hot one...but there were some nice sites along the route - so it was a sort of sightseeing training run. We did it and that's what matters.

It was a hot one out there even when we started. I would say I purposely went slow - because I did - but I'm not sure I 'purposely' went this slow.

That is something nice about being in Chicago in the summer. But usually it is even starting to be unbearably hot here - but not this year!
