      If there's one important thing I've learned, it's "thou shalt respect thy rest day." I'm firmly convinced that a lack of them led to my total misery in jr. high gym class, and my being convinced for about 15 years that running was simply not for me.

      For me, it depends HOW sick I am. If I'm seriously coughing and having a hard time breathing... I don't run. If I feel like burning it out of my system might do some good, I do. If I have a terrible, pounding headache, I won't, because that always seems to make it worse.

      I'm breathing all right, and have little if any fever (strangely, I feel like I SHOULD have a fever, but none is evident on the thermometer). Just annoyed because I start trying to lace 'em up again, and immediately, I'm sick!

      Hope you feel better soon. It's hard with a cold. I usually give my cold two days. If it's not gone by then, it is coming on a run with me. It is hard to run with a cold, so if it is still pretty bad, I keep the distance short. Just long enough to keep my sanity. And keep it easy. But it greatly depends on what stage of the cold you are at ....
