good This is what tired legs are like 6.41 mi 01:12 11:11 pace

5.5 recovery miles. Why do I always forget that the point of a "recovery" run after an LSD day is to get used to what it feels like to run on tired legs?

    good LSD: easy 12 12.02 mi 02:07 10:31 pace

Scheduled for 12, although I'd shorted myself about 16 miles so far this week, so I was going to stretch it to 14. Instead, my hydration bladder sprung a leak, so I cut it to just 12, and stop... read more

Well, .5 mile warmup walk, .25 mile cooldown walk, you know. It was maybe a *little* over 6 actual *running* miles, but not much ;)

I can't believe you are using "easy" and "17" in the same sentence! Bad ass!

Well, easy just refers to the pace/effort. The mental game and overall emotional/spiritual effort to keep on trucking may have been more than "easy" :)

Oh man, Keith! I'm so sorry to hear you're really stressed out. Don't you feel bad for even a second that you didn't have the energy for your runs. Give yourself a little extra rest, and when you feel good, get out there and get it done!

Sounds like your body is demanding rest. It's ok to take an easy week to get yourself rested up. Best wishes and God bless you for the work you do. It sounds so difficult and emotional. People need you and you are there for them :)

  16. WOO (freakin') HOO!!! I am now officially registered for my first ULTRAmarathon -- the Autumn Leaves 50k!!! http://www.orrc.net/races/autumnleaves/autumnleaves.htm

And my longest training run will be in mid-Sept -- 26 miles. I figure, HECK! I'm not running 26 miles and stopping there when I can run another .2 and get a medal, so in Mid-Sept I'm running the Hagg Lake Hybrid (half road, half trails) Marathon. The Ultra is in late October. Then, on Dec 1st I'm running the Seattle Marathon. That will be 3 marathon-or-longer distance races in less than 90 days...and will qualify me to join the "Marathon Maniacs" http://www.marathonmaniacs.com/
