My training plan said that I had to run 5 miles today. So I did 2 easy miles before the 5K race. It was very humid out there and my glasses fogged up during the run. Not fun.

Forgot my Garmin at home and just had my normal watch with me. Ran by myself since everybody who came out today was faster. The second mile felt slower than the first and third mile. Not a bad run.... read more

I have found Galloway run/walk method has helped to increase my overall run times. Try changing it up to a 3/1 interval and see how you do. Great run today!

@ Kate - You're right. These rotten runs help us to grow and become better runners. I have these shinsplints sometimes too. I start to fast and get shin splints. But usually I get them during the first half mile - not after mile 1. Running slower will get rid of them most of the time.
@ Genna - It was a good run - looking back. But it did not feel like it when I wrote this right after coming back from the run. Pain and "concrete blocks"-legs are no fun during a run.
