great Easy/Recovery Run 4.07 mi 00:31 07:40 pace

Wow, this is going to be more difficult that I thought. Coach gave me some heart rate zones to stick in. My easy runs (anything less than 6 miles) and my long runs I will be keeping my heart rate UNDER 151 (153 on longer to allow for drift). I hope this whole run slower to get faster thing works because it is going to be troublesome to not want to just through the monitor out the window and just soar.

I am trying to think big picture here.

Forgive my max HR of 165, I got a little ahead of myself for a few steps. So tough to hold back.

He must agree with your strategy! Way to think ahead and way to pace yourself. I have to think about speeding up and you have to do just the opposite.

Great job on the mental training! It's awesome that you put so much thought into how you prepare. Keep it up!

For my burn-out recovery, I was doing the same thing, but had to keep it under 131. I can't think of anything more unbelievably irritating than that. And now I'm better.. so there is something to be said for this.
