alright Pool Swim 2600 yd 01:12 48:44 pace

I am so glad the swim is the first leg of a triathlon because if I had to swim one length of a pool after 112 miles of riding and running a marathon, I would not make it, much less the 2.4 miles required.

Warm Up - 4x100 (swim, kick, pull, swim)
Pull Set - 2x100, 1x200, 2x100 (all on base of 2:15)
Main Set -
300 on base, negative split
4x50 fast
2:00 break
200 on base, negative split
6x50 fast
2:00 break
100 on base, negative split
8x50 fast
2:00 break
100 easy

I had no problem with the longer parts and negative splitting them. The 4x50's and the 6x50's were all :56 on the dot. The 8x50 all came in at :58 or :59. If I keep it together and really think about my core, I can swim at medium effort for a long time now (good for Ironman I guess) but it is SOOOO hard for me to drop the hammer in the water. I feel like my arms swing more but no more propulsion results. I am still impressed with my progress thus far though. Next week I start doing long swims on Mondays (ack) of 4000 meters each. The IM swim is 3800 meters so this will be painful, but good.
