  1. RUN
    Shamrock Shuffle 4.97 mi 00:52 10:32 pace

Personal slowest shuffle, but I wasn't expecting anything else. It was a run/walk/stretch the ITB from mile 1 on. Racing is definitely more fun when you're actually in racing shape!

You should have said hi to me! But I was so angry, so I don't blame you.

You were by me so fast and it looked like you were on a mission. A very annoying mission.

  2. RUN
    2 mi

I'm a little late logging this run from 12 days ago, but I totally ran (/walked) 2 miles 12 days ago.. just so everyone knows. Before that I ran some miles in January. #shamrockshuffle

  3. RUN
    alright 4 mi 00:44 10:54 pace

Part running, part power walking up hills (of the treadmill variety). Much harder than yesterday's straight 4 of running.

  4. RUN
    good 4 mi 00:40 10:06 pace

    I ran.

  5. FIT
    Barre3 00:40

I did a free online Barre3 workout and there is a reason I quit ballet when I was like 6. Lots of core and leg work though!

  6. FIT

    Core and ITB

  7. RUN
    alright 6 mi 01:02 10:20 pace

The temperature was fine. The packed snow on the sidewalks was not amazing.

  8. swim
    good 2500 yd 01:00 42:14 pace

Ouch, my arms. I cannot swim like I used to, that is for sure. There was a workout conveniently posted on the whiteboard, so I followed that w/a couple modifications. Took a little less than an ... read more

  9. RUN
    alright Treadmill 5 mi 00:53 10:37 pace

Ran 3, walked a little over a quarter mile, ran to 5. It wasn't fast and it didn't feel all that easy, but I'll take what I can get right now.

  10. FIT
    alright 00:30

New year, same core routine. Followed by ITB routine. Wobbly all around. Happy New Year.

  11. RUN
    Treadmill 3.1 mi

Will 3 miles ever feel easy again?

  12. RUN
    3 mi

Cold. Felt cold. Carly was nice and walked with me some.. but my knee didn't hurt today.

  13. RUN
    tired Ravenswood Gardens 3 mi

Being out of shape sucks. I know I've lost a lot of muscle when my knee pain kicks in at mile 2.

  14. RUN
good GRPS Turkey Trot 3.1 mi 00:37 12:00 pace

I did not race this, but had fun running/walking with friends. Then "ran" the mini-trot with my nephew. We cheated and didn't do the whole 1K. Also it was free but we didn't rea... read more

Start them off stealing early. Tell people he's Dutch and they'll just think he's thrifty.

  15. RUN
good By the river. 6 mi 00:55 09:12 pace

My face is a little frozen.

  16. RUN
good Down a long street and back 3 mi

My 3 year old nephew is apparently talking shit about beating me at the Thanksgiving mini-trot. My legs are longer than his entire body, but I'm staying on my game just in case.

  17. RUN
alright Lincoln Square 4.25 mi 00:39 09:12 pace

So that pace I was able to maintain a month ago for 13 miles is but a distant memory. Oof.

It'll come back. Eventually. Maybe years from now. But it will be back.

I don't feel like I could run my pace from a month ago either. Maybe we just perform better on the big stage.

  18. RUN
    3 mi 00:28 09:19 pace

It was so nice and sunny when I was driving home from work. I made it home by 4:15, changed into my running clothes, stepped back outside and it was dark.

  19. RUN
    great 5 mi 00:48 09:33 pace

That felt good other than my knee starting to nag near the end. Guess I need to stop ignoring my ITB exercises.

  20. RUN
    In the snow 3 mi

I figured I'd give myself a taste of winter running before the real training begins. It did not taste amazing.
