Really interesting stuff Bob. Funny guy too. Some good science and common sense nuggets as well: If you can only lift itty-bitty weights and your sprint is a slow jog then your workout productivity will be limited and you will be sad. Haha. Truth.

@Shep- it was a good course to bring out the strongest runners. The only complaint I had about it was that it left few opportunities for spectators to see the runners multiple times. My daughter said that was a good thing - she wouldn't have to listen to me screaming the entire race. :-P

How neat Bob! A real labor of love coaching is, and you captured a nice encapsulation of it in Coach Mahoney! Also, thnx for posting Kym's note. I've been offline and would've missed it. I think back fondly to Coach Bob coming over to us to have that one special moment before the race w/each runner. A quick, personal & very specific encouragement for where we were at in our running ability for that race. I try to mirror that now. And as Winston said, no sighing allowed...yawns are good for O2 intake!

@Karla- the beaches by me are actually nice and groomed from this storm, unlike those by the ocean that were ripped apart. I guess it all depends on the wind direction.
