Just a return to the bike in the woods. 1000 feet of climbing; solitude on single track. The woods are alive with the green of Spring. Refreshing ride!

  3. Feeling left behind on the training. Too many life issues lately. Hope I can get back on track & ahead of the miles. No bueno!!!

I'm in the same boat, it's a bit depressing at times but I'm sure it'll get better and everything will fall into place.

Sorry I missed this earlier. You damn well this was not your day and you're not at fault. You've done it before, so you have nothing to proove. Sometimes, the body just says NO. And the course sounded sick. Best to think long term in this situations, and you smartly did so. No worries, bro. You're the king of the mud in my book!

For something this distance, you should eat every 45mins or so. I like Gu- washed down with water. Early season conditions and being sick definitely play a role- as do things like tire pressure, width, etc. Don't worry about it- go get 'em next time.

Nice bike Trek Superfly. I am partial to the Giant XTC Advance SL. If your talking full suspension the superfly is a sweet ride also along with an Anthem. To be honest there is a lot of awesome bikes out there.

I test rode the Superfly before I stumbled on a Niner on Craigslist and impulse purchased it. However, if I hadn't of searched craigslist that night I would have bought the Superfly an I'm sure I would have been thrilled with the bike. Test ride was short but I felt that the bike fit me well ... and in hindsight I think it's performance would have been very good on the trails. I'll likely call u back today Brian, late night in Denver with friends yesterday, sorry I missed your call.

Superfly is a nice ride. Good mix of parts for the money. I rode the AL version in McDowell last year and was pretty surpised how well put together it was. With the niners, it's tempting to go short travel (like the superfly), but some of the longer bikes (Remedy, Anthem, Tallboy) are very capable for XC as well. The slacker angles are a nice match for the 29er roll-over everything characteristic. Make sure you give them a try too!
