Trainer. Used Sufferfest vids for Sweet Spot blocks. Extra Shot: The Long Scream twice (30 min each), 86% & 88%. Then Hell Hath No Fury (2 x 20 min), 90% each. Hit the TTT at 101%, happy to break 100. ~65-70% between each block.

Now that was more like it. Got after it early and didn't let up. Tough at the end, but pushed through. Probably helped to read a bit from Andrew Starykowicz just before hand, how he pushes as much as he can. Doesn't worry so much about crashing, if it happens it happens. You just get tired on the bike. Guy could seriously give Chris Lieto a run on the bike, he's that good.

    Wow. He must be am amazing cyclist! What do you think about that strategy, though? I mean, in reality, Lieto often gets overtaken by better runners with fresher legs. Killer ride, too!

    For a training strategy, yes, it works. As a race strategy no. You have to have a strong run, but that means strong for your ability. Lieto gets overtaken because their riding is closer to his than his running is to theirs. At Kona, guys tend to go for broke more. He gets the lead he'll need, and then hopes he can hold on in the run. It's almost worked before, getting overtaken with like 3 miles left once, and finishing in 2nd.

    Another one was Lance. He could back way off on the bike hanging out with the other guys, but he just is not going to run a 1:11 for a HIM. 1:16-1:17 was about the best he could do, so he may as well bike as fast as he could and still be able to run that.
