Thought on the run: Whoever said you need to recover 1 day for every mile you raced is way off. If you need a week to bounce back from a 10K you may need another hobby for now.

I totally agree! Although I don't have your speed or stamina I find that more than a day or two of no running leaves me itching to hit the pavement, whether I've done 2 or 20 miles in the day(s) before. Keep up your inspiring posts Brian! You rock!

Thanks Kirstin... but talk about stamina, you have more miles than me this year!

If this were true I would spend most of my time recovering! Ready for the weekend?

Let's put it this way.... If I get a good nap Friday afternoon, ultimately, I'll probably be OK. If not... I am utterly f'd.

I think it depends on how you define racing. While I mostly agree I also know that too much too soon leads to injury. Don't ask me how I know.
