blah Cellcom Green Bay Marathon 26.2 mi 04:53 11:11 pace

This just in: Marathons are hard.

Nevertheless, completed No. 4. It wasn't pretty and it certainly wasn't fast, but I'm no less proud of the accomplishment.

Ran the first 11.5 wit... read more

Congrats on #4! It a bummer when weather and injury rob us of "goals" but you played it smart. Amazing+++ job getting to the finish line in that heat. Now you have another metal and an awesome map of YOUR Green Bay Marathon. That map is crazy! You might have actually run 30 miles :) Hope your resting up and will be ready to train for LAKEFRONT baby! Whoot whoot!!!

Congrats on #4. Glad you used your head and didn't end up like some others that were on ambulance cots along the course. You should be very proud of this accomplishment. Now hears hoping that #5 will be better.......and cooler

Congrats on #4! Great job finishing what you started. There certainly weren't enough warm days this spring to train for weather like we had. Very proud of you!

  4. RUN
good Evening stroll 3.01 mi 00:29 09:32 pace

Very comfortable run as the sun was going down. One more shorty before Sunday.

  5. RUN
alright 'Round town 3.06 mi 00:29 09:36 pace

Just a (slow) quickie to keep things in order for Sunday. Not sure how things will turn out, but gonna (try) to have fun doing it.

  6. RUN
alright Sunday shorty 4 mi 00:39 09:46 pace

Little sluggish from Mother's Day overeating but not to bad overall.

  7. RUN
alright Last long run 10 mi 01:39 09:53 pace

Only appropriate that the last long run of this training cycle was on the treadmill. Thanks, Ma Nature.

    alright Shorty 4.1 mi 00:39 09:35 pace

2 solo and 2 with the dog, who is not a fan of the warmer weather.

  9. RUN
alright Getting my kicks ... 5.03 mi 00:47 09:19 pace

Just a 5er during soccer practice. Tried upping the pace a smidge, but body wasn't all that receptive.

  10. RUN
alright Sunday stroll 6.36 mi 01:01 09:32 pace

Felt a little sluggish on this one, but happy to be one step closer to Green Bay in two weeks. Very comfortable temps this morning to be on the roads.

  11. RUN
alright Dodging the elements 14 mi 02:18 09:52 pace

Wasn't about to deal with the elements for this one, so hit the Pettit for a few circles. Not ideal, but it went better than last week's long run. One more week of training until race wee... read more

alright Last speed workout 8 mi 01:14 09:13 pace

Plan called for 8 miles, including 4x1 mile at 8:00 (1 min recovery). Stretched it to 3 min recovery instead. I'm old.

I'm glad you took longer recoveries if you needed them. The recovery times are really just a guide, the important part is THAT you recover between intervals not how long it takes you TO recover (though if the recoveries were 10 mins, we'd probably have to talk). Way to go, Brett!

  13. RUN
alright Here and there 5.14 mi 00:47 09:03 pace

Just killing time during soccer practice. Still a little heavy legged, but much better than yesterday's train wreck.

  14. RUN
    tired Whoa! 5.01 mi 00:48 09:40 pace

Definitely felt all of the effects of Friday's 20. Really took all I had just to come in at this miserable pace. On the upside, pretty sweet weather for running.
