Didn't have a lot of juice left this evening after my first swim around the cove this year (earlier today). However, I did want to set the right kind of bar for myself this summer. I want to get more combo workouts in within the same day. For the last couple years, I've been happy enough to get one work out in per day and that was more often than not a run, but I need to balance that out with other activities and I want to balance it in the same day for a bunch of reasons. So here was day 1, and yes it was hot, again.

    That sounds like a good goal. I wish I had a convenient place to swim. I basically walk most days, run some days, do spin 1-2 times per week. I really need to start lifting weights a couple of times a week.

    when time is a real issue ( and I remember) I take some small dumb bells with me on a walk or run, then go through a series of exercises with them. I figure it's better than nothing and breaks the tedium a bit from running or walking to the same places. good for the calves too carrying a little extra weight

    Sadly, I think my calves already are carrying a little extra weight-from my thighs, LOL. For me, it's also a matter of time and just remembering to do it. I also worry that I have horrible form and wish I could pay a personal trainer for a few sessions until I felt comfortable; it's just so expensive, though.
