injured Pheonix Half 13.13 mi 01:49 08:17 pace

To start I was supposed to do the full marathon but my calf injuries kept me from training so I was able to switch into the Half (I was too late to change it to next year). I knew after yesterday's run that my calf was sore again but I figured I would just run through it. (yea .. good idea right?)

I felt my calf at 4 miles and my 7 miles I was starting to limp. By 11 miles I could feel it in my hip. I tried to Manage this by slowing down however I didn't want to slow to much. Anyway, kept going. I forgot my foam roller but will get a message on my calf this week.

Grandmas up next!!

Good Phoenix Half. Injuries are so Dis-heartening! It took mine 4-5 weeks with just running on Saturday's to go away. I thought it was forever. And it ruined my endurance. The calf injury has no work around. I emphathize with your situation. Don't blame your self for running through it. You had to do a test to see how much it had healed. Rest it for 7 days, then do 10 or 20 squats to see if you can feel it. If so or if you can feel it walking give it another 7 days.
