The doc thinks my foot pain is Morton's Neuroma, so to test this out I got a local anesthetic shot between my 2nd and 3rd toes. Then, they tell me to go running and see if I feel any regular ... read more

Great to hear that news, Joe. Bad timing for your injury, but it sounds like you'll be back quickly. Maybe we'll both be well enough for a showdown at the Cap 10K?

Brendon
I have/had the same thing and it seems to have gone away. Here's what I did:
- I bought a different brand of shoes with a wider toe box. I still wear my old shoes but I wanted more variety.
- I got some Pedag MT inserts for my non-running shoes. My feet are adjusting and they aren't as uncomfortable so they must be working?
- I think spreading my toes is key. I use injinji socks as much as possible.
- I have loosened the laces on all of my shoes so there is less pressure on my arches and toes.

I got my inserts at the InStep store in the Arboretum. A Dr. Rx will only save sales tax (on ~ $20). I also got a new pair of injinji socks there too, they were about the same price as at REI.
I think VFF's would help but I don't think my wife would be seen with me if I wore them outside the house and I can't justify $100+ for a pair.

I'm not ready for the VFF's either :). I hadn't thought about the Injinji socks with regular shoes though. That InStep store is right by my office too...
