I think I should turn coach; I am not doing any riding myself but I seem to have an opinion on everyone else's riding.

Yes ! But it hurts little bit when I ride on the brake hood. On the drops it is manageable. I am little shy to go out on a longish ride coz of the rain here. Last thing I want is wet bandage. But I am surprised my 1200 escape with only minor scratches.

just did the maths. 75 a day is the dosage. Have only a few days of guaranteed riding left.

Boni and all the other greats play retirement games with us fans. You must have seen the problems LA is facing after coming out from retirement. Who knows I might go back to WSJ and spill the beans when you come back from retirement.

Folding bike. It is your destiny. I am getting one before I leave Oman to make sure I can ride when I travel.

Folding bike makes sense with the amount of travel you do Vandit. For me it is just 2-3 short trips in a year plus one or two vacations. Btw. I checked breakaway reviews. beautiful. Very innovative stuff.

If this travel involves stepping out of desh ki dharti, don't come back without a new bike.

Boni - if not a folder, get a nice carbon fiber CX bike. Check out the Ridleys at CC.

@ Boni Just observed your goal on DM. I know you plan to take it easy during TFN, but it sounds good to be top 5 finisher on some of the days during TFN. You will surprised how competitive it gets and people get to own bragging rights for eternity! :-) I am so glad it is not a race or........

Rajesh, You are evil :-). ; btw, my goal is only about the distance challenge that we all are playing on DM from 2009 Dec (doc's version). No plans to try to be any topper in TFN. Climbing Kalhati decently is one target.

Seriously you wont believe this but last year on the climb to Ooty I crashed into a ditch while climbing, the 2 riders on my wheels did not stop, but stepped up the pace. I got up, fixed my bike and set out to catch them. I did catch them but I had spent too much to get to their wheels and there was still 30k left to go. I was bruised, I dropped and rode at my pace. I did not have such scenarios in mind when I founded TFN with Ravi..

An unfortunate incident. Glad to know that you took it on your stride and that you were not badly banged up.

A side note: One learning that I came out with from the recent 160k ride was that one should ride his pace. In that ride, I tried to match faraz's pace over rough terrain and lost out on a lot of fun. The ride would have been more enjoyable for both of us had I just rode as me.
