After Lonavala breakfast with Sumit, Faraz and I started towards Mulshi. If I felt the climbs were bad I should call the path that followed a worster (the sequence is bad, badder, worse, worser, worst, worster, worstest.). There were lakes and rivers on the road. Well I am risking a law suit from the roads dept for calling it a road and I don't dare to call it a trail and risk a lifetime ban on MH trails. Anyways, 50km of pain later we emerged at Mulshi (120k). No exaggeration, we must have climbed a 100 small and medium climbs by this time. By then I was in shards. Faraz on the other hand was bouncing like an energizer bunny. He was very happy that the CX bike is proving its worth. Somehow made it back home. Literally crawling.

Cool distance. 8 hrs on the saddle!! Congrats!! You will surely make this long ride easier next time.

Seems like you guys had real fun. Which Cx bike? Have I missed a new bike here?

Well done guys. The 9% climbs on bad roads really hurts don't they?
We'll surely do it again Boni. The first time around it feels like a kick in the nuts but it gets easier from here.
Dr. D That's Faraz's Kona.

Great Job Boni! You are all set for TFN now :-) Just don't speak any kannada words for the next few days i.e. if you know any.

Last time I did this, there was gravel and the roads were wet. Its fun climbing when the rear wheel is skidding on those climbs.

@Sumit - doh, of course. @Boni - ah snap. It is like the Melty Man, however - it will strike one day and when you least expect it. Good ride nonetheless.

Congrats Boni. Great ride. (I do not see the motivation button in the mobile version. So treat this as my motivation.) There are a lot going to struggle behind you in TFNten.

Thanks again. Divya:You were totally on the money with the description. Faraz was a bit nervous on from where to to turn. I told him Divya has told me the name of the phata and though I don't remember the name I will know when someone confirms the name. That is exactly what we did. I still don't remember the name :-)

Fanastic ride, and the near 20 kph pace! And a good advertisement for the CX bikes:) Were you on your 3700? Or a roadbike?
over 1 year ago • Like
Thanks. Faraz was riding his JTS the CX bike. I was on my 3700. JTS handled the terrain beautifully. It was a treat to watch Faraz riding it up effortlessly. Of course it says more about Faraz than about the bike. Still...
