This might've been the best 20-mile training run I've ever had. Felt great the whole time, like I could've run forever. Met up with Chanthana about 4.5 miles in and we headed south, against the wind. We ran to 50-something St, through some pleasantly peaceful areas of the lakefront path...lots of shade too. On the way back we decided to kick it up to MP for the last 3 miles or so. We cruised along for the first mile, then the second mile ran into a major roadblock at the DuSable bridge. Apparently they decided to raise the bridge over the river at that most opportune moment. We got held up for about 5 minutes which was just enough time for the legs to cramp up. It was tough to get back into the momentum of the tempo pace with all of the backed up runner/biker/walker traffic - quite the cluster, but we busted through.

Afterwards we met up for brunch with Jeff H. , Jenny P. , Francesco S. , and a bunch of others. Tony L. stopped by and we missed Sara B. , but I did see her a couple of times on the path.

Just realized this will be my last 20-mile training run of 2011. Not sad about that.

Ready for a nap now.

Connie: "I feel like I could run forever! Do you?" Chanthana: "HELL NO!" Awesome run! You are so ready to crush CM. And then take a long break post-race haha

Awesome stuff! Another great run, ma'am! I was telling Fraspa at Yolk that last year I did the CARA 20-mile training run and felt that same invincible way...then I bonked CM10 with a fever and all that nonsense. What corral are you in?
