great Magness Memorial Tree Farm 2.58 mi 00:45 17:16 pace

Went down to Magness Memorial Tree Farm with my friend Erin. This was the first time either of us had run there so it was very much an exploratory run. There was no real method to our route other than "Which way do you feel like going?" every time we came to a fork in the road.

Parts of the trail were damp but over all it was dry and sunny. Magness is a really beautiful location. There is a half a mile paved loop with dirt trails that branch off from it. There were a lot of steep climbs that we just weren't conditioned for so we would walk those. In retrospect we had wished we had brought water. Even walking those hills kept our heart rate up.

We had a great time getting lost all over the park making guesses about where the forks in the trail lead. Half the time we were wrong. The park isn't so big that it was an issue though.

This is a great location for running or hiking. There were plenty of park benches along the path and it would be a great place to go hang out with the family. I understand they do guided nature walks as well. I look forward to our next run there.
