This short run with Quinn went very well. Champoeg doesn't have a lot of dirt trails. We really wanted a trail run though so we stuck to the dirt as much as possible.
At one point we went off the trail to explore what looked like a path that the ranger vehicles would use. It was heavily overgrown and a little muddy in parts. It was a fun experience holding the grass down for ourselves. We really had to lift our feet much higher while we were running than we're used to.
Originally I planned to barefoot it but my feet were raw before we even left the parking lot. Instead I ran it in my VFFs. I definitely feel my form improving as I work on my core and start integrating all the advice from the BFRS group.
Afterwards we took a walk to meet my wife and daughter. I did the mile walk back to the car barefoot. The sensation reminds me of the raw burn my fret hand gets when I've been practicing guitar for a long stretch. It should get better in time and I think I need to incorporate more barefoot walks to help build up the tolerance.
Over all we had a great time and I look forward to doing it again.

Brave. Nice exploration. Can't do that sort of thing in my neighborhood now due to icy and snow. Sounds great, however.

Sounds like a good run Jim. So the park is not flooded anymore ?

It was very wet but not flooded. However when I was reviewing the GPS data on our run I realized that the "lake" we ran by wasn't there on the satellite photos. lol So I guess it is a little flooded.
