Completely George! I've never really been big into the gels to be honest but I constantly hear people saying used correctly it can make a positive difference on longer runs. There was a bit of impulse buying involved here too thou lol :)

Yes the gels can be useful. Each one's about 20g carbs so I tend to go for one every 40 minutes or so along with 250ml Lucozade (another 15g). The aim should be to get about 40-60g carbs per hour but you need to make sure you take them with water or they'll be too concentrated and your stomach will struggle to digest it.
How can you impulse by a crate of High5?! I hope you like the taste of them now you've got so many!

Thanks for the tips George. I can impulse buy anything lol, I'm particularly bad on amazon with books actually! Yeah, I dont mind the taste of the Orange High5's. I picked up two sachets a few weeks ago in my local health-food store and tested them out. There just so expensive here, I cant understand the mark-up?Your right about the concentration being a little much for my stomach, I have a camelbak I'm going to start taking on longer runs so that should be hydration sorted.
