OH NO!! : o ( Tight Hamstrings/calves can also add to knee pain. I'd work on those too. I also found this KT Tape I put on my right knee on long runs. It gives a little bit more support to the tendons around the knee. Dick's Sporting Goods has it (near the football gear) comes in a black box. Tape is all different colors and it comes with instructions on how to use it. I didn't see anything for itbs though, but there is a way to use it for Runner's Knee. Hope you are better soon! Don't forget to ice it!

Renee, it is Runner's knee! I had the chiropractor tape it Friday, then ran 3 yesterday. It feels pretty good. I need to get in a couple more longer runs before Columbus! Trying to pick up some more yoga in my schedule too, I know that will help. I'm getting nervous!

That is sooooo cool!! What a great experience! I stayed out too late Saturday night w/ my hubs & friends so getting up early this am was a challenge for me. Only had 5.5 hrs sleep total, still made it though.

I think I needed to reset my Garmin. A distance that before measured as .5 miles, measured .32.... I thought it reset automatically. Anyone else had this happen?

I've heard that on hills sometimes the satellite doesn't pick up in a spot, that's what Eric at Runner's Plus told me. I haven't noticed it on mine though (Garmin 610). Which one do you have?

FOAM ROLLER!! I roller mine twice a day and I was healed in just a few days. It does hurt a little when you are rolling, but it will be worth it. Exercises to stretch and strengthen your hip flexors really help, too. I have really done better after incorporating the trail running into my training. It is all about strengthening the leg muscles.

Thanks, Christa!! I have avoided the roller in the past because it HURTS! But, you're right, I need to just do it! My chiropractor asked me to run 8-9 miles to his office, then he would put me on the treadmill and work on it while I was actively in pain....sounds fun. Planning to foam roll and build up my quads for sure! Thanks, Kassie, for taking such good care of me even when I'm stubborn!!!

I love my route, but I need to change it up! I ran the last 4 miles into the sun, so hot! Ran out of water at mile 8, slowed down at that point. Hoping for 11 mins or under for long runs.

Agreed. Sometimes it just works out better to run on the treadmill, though.
