Brazen Racing's championship race (almost 14 miles, and almost 4000 feet of climbing!). Much to my amazement, I was in 10th place for the series going into it. Not that that made me in any danger of winning anything, but it was still cool. My only goal was to have a better race than last year, in which I had some pretty bad leg cramps. I succeeded in that, and also managed to get a much, much better time. (The time here isn't my official time, that hasn't been posted online yet, and I didn't write it down this morning.) There was a surprising amount of fog, especially on the last ridge, where the visibility was no more than 15 feet. The good part of all of this was that it was nice and cool, and there were some times early on when looking down from the ridges across the valley where things looked positively amazing. No, I didn't take any pictures. Sorry.
I had originally planned to time this with my Garmin, but while it worked fine on Thursday, when I tried to turn it on Friday night, it refused to do so. So I ended up just using my phone. We'll see if I can get my Forerunner to work again, if I can't, I guess a 910XT is going to make it onto my birthday/christmas list. :-)
As usual, it was great seeing all the Brazen Racing regulars again.
