Fleet Feet Pleasant Hill had a Good Form Running clinic tonight, and I figured it would be a good opportunity to find out how my form stacks up. I couldn't see driving to the running store for a running event, given that it's only about a mile away, so I ran down there.

Good Form Running is about what I expected, it's pretty much the core of what Chi Running, Pose, etc are teaching about running form. We got video taped running with shoes and barefoot, watched some video of really good runners, and did some exercises for posture, cadence, etc. While much of it wasn't new to me, it's always good to get a refresher on this stuff. In looking at the video, my form is pretty good, but it looks like I don't quite get far enough forward, I'm not heel striking, but I land a little farther back on my foot than would be ideal. I do wonder if I stop being lazy and actually get a metronome so that I can get my cadence closer to that magic 180, I'd actually find that my foot strike would also get better. Maybe I'll actually buy a metronome this time... we'll see. :-)
