  1. Well, the St. Anthony's triathlon is about 5 weeks away. My weakest sport is the swim (and the length for this leg of the race will be 1500m or 0.93 miles). I'm going to the pool about 3x a week and besides a triathlon swimming class, I'm basically jus... read more

Slow is smooth, and smooth is fast. Swimming is all about efficiency. Do it right, every time, the same way and the speed will come. You'll do great at St. Anthony's. Are you doing any open water swimming? St. Pete Mad Dogs have started their Wed night Pass-a-Grill swim sessions.

Today's goal was simply to survive an hour's worth of swimming. So, I really didn't count my laps. Boy was it tough! Hoping to get better over the next 5 weeks.

About 30 mins on the indoor upright bike... eh. Not as good as a spin bike, but that what was available.

  4. goodLFF (Rower) 00:20

Never did the rower before. Tried staying under 3min/500m average for duration of the workout.

Great job! I love the rowing machine. And it's usually available. ;-)

You're right... it usually *is* available... but I'm still not quite sure if I like it or not - nor if I am even doing it right. Any tips on making the workout more effective?

Eh... it was nice to move my legs the next day after the half-marathon. Kept it low-key, recovery ride.

I got a full body massage the day after the half marathon. It was awesome. It felt good to be sore but I went on a short recovery walk.

Where did you get the massage? Do you recommend any place? I moved here from AZ just over 5 months ago, so I'm still in that 'discovery'-mode; finding new places in Tampa/St. Pete (it seems the grocery store and library are the only 2 places I frequent - LOL).

I went to Hand & Stone off 4th street. They have discounts for first timers. I got the Hot Stone Massage which was really nice. They have a regular full body massage for $39 if you haven't been there before. I haven't been anywhere else here in FL.

Cool, thanks! I've heard of them and have passed by there a few times. In the past, they've offered large discounts on Groupon.com! Although I'm not a big fan of stone massages, I may give their other massages a try. Thanks!
