It was raining lightly when I woke up and the idea of 2 hours of wetness wasn't appealing, but I'm close to my race & don't want to miss any more runs! I decided to go and figured if I can sit in light rain for an hour at my daughter's football game, I could run in it--and cut it early if I needed to. When I got 10 miles west to the coast, there was a break in the sky and a beautiful sunrise. I seemed to chase the run (or run ahead of it) because it hardly rained on me and I wasn't cold at all. Right at the end it started raining more. I did 6 miles over 10 min pace and 5 miles under. But the last mile I bonked on b/c I was running opposite a finishing triathalon and ran in the mud to try to stay out of their way and then was running opposite them on a narrow path. I just couldn't keep the pace--but it was still under 10:20. Still feeling nervous about running close to 9min pace for 13 miles but trying to believe in myself. Hip bugged me some, but no significant pain.

Your pace is amazing! I'm so happy you were able to get your miles in.

When I lived in California I loved running in the rain because it was so rare. Now it just gets tiresome. But you did it!

Great work on your run. I love the saying that there are no bad weather conditions, just soft people. You are in the hardcore group now honey! I am sure you will do really well on race day. Dont under estimate what race day does to our pace. Believe in yourself and trust your training. Cant wait to hear about it!!
