It's definitely been rough. Good work fighting through it! Nice long ride!

Not running, hurt, and life is crazy. We just had our first child, Noah Mitchell Chorey on Friday! Not much sleep, and it's just as well that I'm not running. I have been biking, but n... read more

Coincidence. I have 10 and 13 year old daughters, and now a 5 week old son. We named him Noah too. Congratulations, and good name choice. Translated loosely from the Hebrew, it means peaceful or comfort.

  3. No running yesterday, today, or maybe next week. IT band/Achilles are starting to affect quality of life other than running, so I think it's time to stop.

hilly and windy run at windsor castle park in smithfield... there were times when I just had to laugh at how ridiculous the wind was.

Wind is always a wild card, Billy. Keepin' the positive thoughts going for you. A LOT of people blew up at Shamrock, including me and Greg Dawson who had to "settle" for 3:00:15. Give yourself a real rest or throw in a good sports massage. might be just the trick!

Thanks so much Jon, I really appreciate the thoughts more than you know! I think I may need to skip Boston this year, focus on some shorter stuff, and try to have more fun with running! It is a blessing, not a curse after all : ) Hope you're recovering well, and hopefully I'll see you soon!

Nice one Billy. I know you wanted 20 but maybe you just needed a working rest run. You might not be recovered from Shamrock yet. I know I'm not. The soreness is all gone but there are no long runs in the legs yet. Only a couple weeks to Boston. Be patient and maybe your leg and mental powers will show up all at once on race day.

Thanks for the encouragement Les. I think I'm just beat up emotionally and physically from life outside of running. I blew up at shamrock, and haven't been able to bounce back. Still praying about it, but I think my Boston streak will have to end this year.

Knee is still acting up. Normally I would run through this, but not anymore. Is this a sign of maturity? Probably not, with the baby coming, I think priorities are about to shift dramatically.
