Peak day for the CDA marathon training cycle! I know, I was scheduled for a 20 miler but just didn't have time to go that far. I still feel pretty good about Sunday's race, though. ;-)

Thanks Sheldon, so soon after a 50 mile run I'm just looking to have fun and use it as a long supported run. Maybe have some good conversation and get some comments on running in sandals. :)

Active recovery, don't want scar tissue impeding real recovery. I could actually walk around this morning when I got up without hobbling. :)

Nice run Brian! How many miles did you get on the Altras before they started falling apart?

Only about 60mi on the Superiors before there were signs of the fabric sides splitting. It's a common problem with some people, others have no problems at all. I've been in contact with Altra and they're looking in to it heavily. I personally think it is too much mechanical stress at the point where the toes bend on the sides, probably a result of the shape of their last. But I REALLY like running in these shoes so I'm determined to keep them from falling apart on me. :)

I had 500mi on my Lone Peaks before I had a fabric tear and have a pair of Instincts with 600mi on them and I still run in them. I think the Superiors are particularly susceptible to this issue for some reason.

I think it's the other way around. :) I'm game if you're interested in coming out this way. Heck, if you're not signed up for something late July, you should look at running the McCall Trail Classic with me. 40 miles of awesome high alpine. I'm looking to do a whole lot of runs up in the area I shot these photos before then, I need to get better uphill stamina.
