  1. Anne's Photo Anne RUN
    injured7 Around BV 7.29 mi / 01:15 10:13 pace

Injured because my brain is injured. On top of being tired, depleted, sick, my brain was just a flurry of negative thoughts throughout this entire run. I am haunted by what I *can't* do. I have been struggling with this for some time. I think the only ... read more

Lucky you to have gotten this in already. One of these days I'm going to do the same, but I'm still not adjusted to D.S.T. Maybe by June...

Hi Anne--I've read everything that everyone has written and I have an idea. I wonder if rather than a passive rest, you take an active rest and start to integrate some yoga/meditation. Good and gentle, restorative, chill out, goose bumpy, replenishing yoga works on clearing your heart, head, soul and mind. I'm NOT talking about level 100 hot yoga. You do enough lifting (nice guns btw) and working your muscles. I'm talkng about a mental and physical massage from the inside out. Call, email 4 details, hon

I'm going to be lazy and say that I agree with so many of the other comments that have been posted and have an idea of what you are feeling. Remember how far you have come and make sure to do this for you and not for anybody else!!

Walked a mile around the industrial park. Seems like it took a lot of effort just to walk. Bleh.

Every mile counts - especially with all your double workout days!

I promised a pic after 6 weeks of Big Muscle Plan. So here it is - it also doubles as my favorite workout outfit pic! I loooooove purple! I don't know why the pic is so blurry, I can't figure out this webcam thing. As soon as I do, I will upload a video!

    goodSession with John 01:00

Pullups, dips, hip thrusts, leg lifts, decline crunches, lunges, squats, cable bicep curls, bench press, flies. And good conversation! Felt a little dizzy at times. And John says no running today.

If you can even call this a workout. I sucked. I couldn't do the moves. I probably shouldn't even record this as a "workout"! But it was nice to see everyone. I'd like to go back when I can really try it out! I probably looked pretty ridiculous.

Way to get out there and try something different! Your body probably really benefited from the stretches regardless of technique:)

Anne I think you were just fine. I was telling Sarah on the way home that I was laughing (in my head) when Patti told us to do the one move "without letting your stomach touch your hips/thighs." Really? Do you see my stomach? It touches my thighs in the rest position. ;) So don't worry about not doing all the poses. Were you able to run like a maniac when you first started? I'm guessing no... so don't beat yourself up for this either. ;)

goodRecovery run, take me away 4.3 mi / 00:38 08:50 pace

I wanted to prove something to myself and just run. I needed to cross the line from "I could run tonight" to "I DID run tonight". I went to Pilates and felt like such crap: sick, sore, headache, dizzy. The weekend miles took a toll ... read more

  7. A little vocabulary lesson from Fit Milwaukee:

"Thread the needle": A phrase Rochelle uses to indicate she is going to run in between two people at a race to pass them. Sometimes there's no other way!

It was super hard to get motivated to get this run done so late in the day. I headed out at about 4pm and took a different route than usual. It took me past the airport and I got to see lots of planes landing and taking off - which I LOVE - I am a tota... read more

      Hi Anne,
How do you get to see the mile splits on your garmin, or is it on the software it comes with? I've had my garmin for months but haven installed the software yet... :( Please let me know... I want to see my splits too- I think it helps keep you grounded in your training. Thank you!

    • Anne Anne

The splits can be set up using the watch - mode, training, training options, auto-lap, by distance, lap at 1mi. Then after every mile you will hear an alert and the screen will show the mile you've completed and your average pace for that mile! You can see the splits in your history on the watch, or if you download the software you can sync it with your computer and view it in a pretty chart.
