I'll bet there were a lot of casualties in that race. Your experience got you through. I wonder how much ice they went through during that run? Superman, you are!

In the water I remember the announcer saying, "Welcome to the 2,300 first time Ironman participants this morning" out of a field of 3,000 and I thought, man - there is going to be a lot of carnage in a May race that will be 90 degrees by 3:00 p.m. They had one volunteer for every athlete - first class event all the way around, but it was really nuts in hindsight. Like most things you and I have signed up for.

22 tacos is perhaps the most impressive PR I've ever seen on DM!

All the stars were aligned on that 22 taco day. It was like running the marathon of your dreams. Having the metabolism of a 20 year old, plus working out 3-4 hours a day helped.

Glad things worked out well for the race. I had to do a marathon in the rain once. Rained the whole time. Soaking wet tennis shoes are not fun but I didn't mind it so much. I was thankful I wore a hat that kept the rain off my face.

My back is getting better, hot chocolate has been had and didn't hurt it worse! Hot shower, well, my new best friend, makes it better after cold pool.

@Jenny - that stinks about losing the workout. I think I'll probably have a backup Garmin going while testing the GPS app. Yes, I'm messaging Ben about the issues.

Hey, nice legs ;-) Seriously Bob, looks like you're doing great! I don't think I could do that WITHOUT surgery. I'd spend most of my time getting my butt off the floor to chase down balls!
