alright One for Water 4 mile race 4 mi 00:25 06:15 pace

This was a tough race, and I thought I was in better shape than I apparently am. The kid who won the race last year was back, and I was hoping to stick with him this year. We took off super fast, and clocked a 5:39 first mile. And that was way too fast for me. The next 2 miles gradually slowed, and I managed to pick up the pace slightly over the last mile.

Official time: 25:03 (9 seconds off my PR)
Overall finish: 5th place
Age group: 1st place (won another pipe wrench!)

Pretty good for this early in the season. Next time, go out at 6:00 and you'll probably hold it the whole way!

Thanks everyone! Caleb, that was my original plan, but I got sucked in with the speed demons and couldn't hold back. Next time, I will definitely run smarter!

It takes great discipline to recognize and recover from being sucked in with the speed draft in events like this. Smart move. Kudos on the race!
