  1. RUN
    good 2.09 mi

First run of my eight-week half-marathon training! I haven't ran since the Spring, so I was glad to run two miles fairly easily.

  2. RUN
    great 10.24 mi 02:12 12:55 pace

I ran all of this! Felt great from mile 1-8.5. Talked on the phone (via headphones & armband) to two friends during most of my run. It rained about 60% of the time. Miles 8.5-10.24 were an u... read more

  3. RUN
    blah 8.65 mi 01:57 13:30 pace

I walked about 15% of this... Trying to shock my body back into training after so much time off. Felt weak. The more I walked, the more I didn't want to run anymore...

  4. RUN
    good 4 mi 00:45 11:07 pace

Wanted to run 9 this day, but the angry storm gods were chasing me.

  5. RUN
    great 5 mi 00:52 10:21 pace

Outrun the Sun -- charity race in Indianapolis. This was my first race and I loved it! I'm surprised I kept a 10:21 pace for 5 miles. I guess I do have a little competitiveness in me. ;)

  6. RUN
    great 4 mi 00:44 11:02 pace

I felt very fast during this post-sunset run, but the stopwatch still said I ran 11 minute miles. The air was cold and crisp; I felt good.

  7. RUN
    blah 8.65 mi 01:45 12:08 pace

That was one of the hardest things I've ever done. "Thirsty" doesn't come close to describing how much I wanted water. I kept having fantasies that some stranger would appear around the c... read more

  8. RUN
    great 3 mi 00:31 10:18 pace

I loved this run. I really focused on keeping a long stride and not letting my speed dip. This time is my 2nd best so far.

  9. RUN
    good 6.38 mi 01:14 11:35 pace

Ran the 6 (point-three-eight) mile loop around the country roads. Slowest time yet. That's nothing to celebrate. I'm having trouble caring how fast I run, though.

  10. RUN
    great 7 mi 01:19 11:14 pace

I had a lot to think about on those 7 miles. Had a great time out there. Feeling more and more confident that I will be able to conquer this training.

  11. RUN
    good 4 mi 00:43 10:39 pace

Ran without music so that I could really focus on the speed. Because of this, my speed improved approx. 30 seconds per mile, but I'm still not where I want to be!

  12. RUN
    good 5 mi 00:56 11:07 pace

Late run with the mosquitoes. Felt slow-- surprise, surprise. Having trouble increasing the speed. I get worn out quickly. Overall, though, it was fine.

  13. RUN
    good 3.8 mi 00:42 11:03 pace

Silent run; accidentally ran further than I was supposed to. Also, no recorded time on this one. Felt slow but okay.

  14. RUN
    great 6 mi 01:06 11:00 pace

6 MILES AND NO SIDE STITCHES OR PAIN OF ANY OTHER SORT?! I'd say it went pretty well!

  15. RUN
    good 4 mi 00:42 10:30 pace

Aside from the crazy wind blowing against me 3/4 of the way, I had a great run. Side pain was kept to a minimum and no knee pain at all. My speed definitely improved! Tomorrow is a 6-mile day. Am I... read more

  16. RUN
    good 4 mi 00:44 10:54 pace

Ran in the calm before the storm. With each bolt of lightening I saw in the distance, I got a little faster. ;) Felt better and faster than Tuesday, but my time was still pretty slow. PS When are t... read more

  17. SO inspired by the Biggest Loser season finale...

  18. RUN
    blah 3 mi 00:35 11:31 pace

Not fun at all. Slow, side stitches, and knee pain. Can I have a do-over?

These pictures represent a 30-pound weight loss (from January to May 2009) AND how I look at the beginning of marathon training (which is from May to October 2009). My "in-between" photos!
