    good Warmup 1 mi 00:20 20:00 pace

2/27/2013: I walked from the doctor's office way down to the promenade by the East River, where I began my run. It was about a mile.

  5. RUN
    alright Flushing Meadows-Corona Park ... 11 mi 02:46 15:06 pace

2/25/2013: FMCP is such a weird, ugly, noisy, muddy, wet place but it's also awesome and interesting. Although my average pace was slow, I felt good and strong and I appreciated the flat cours... read more

  6. RUN
good Central Park Lower Loop and E... 4.71 mi 01:04 13:40 pace

2/22/2013: A nice effort to and from the park and two loops. Sometimes running the loop at night is a bit spooky; other runners and cyclists are out, but I was alone for some stretches.

  7. RUN
good Upper East Side Run 2.25 mi 00:30 13:20 pace

2/20/2013: My standard dinner-break short run up 5th Avenue and back.

  8. RUN
good 28th Street Hill Repeats 1.93 mi 00:25 13:11 pace

2/19/2013: For some variety, I like to do this hill sprint workout on my block (after a warmup run along Ditmars Blvd.). This is a good, hard workout that I can do when I'm time-crunched.

2/17/2013: Granted this race was a stand-in for my long run, but nonetheless it was not exactly my finest racing performance: I can in dead last in the individual runner category. I won't minc... read more

alright Prospect Park Long Run 9.03 mi 02:13 14:43 pace

2/10/2013: A long run along the plowed drive in PP, however some ice and snow remained. I think I was supposed to do 10 miles but just couldn't after the fatigue from the previous day's s... read more

  13. RUN
good Upper East Side Run 2.52 mi 00:35 13:47 pace

2/5/2013: Two days after my hybrid race/long run I managed a decent 2.5-miler during my dinner break up to the Met and back.

  14. RUN
blah Central Park Long Run 4.03 mi 01:02 15:22 pace

2/3/2013: After the Gridiron, I ran another 4 miles to complete my long run for the week. Man, it was COLD.

  15. RUN
alright NYRR Gridiron Classic 4.05 mi 00:57 14:04 pace

2/3/2013: My fitness is so much worse than a year ago. I ran this race much, much faster in 2012. Oh well.

2/3/2013: Walking and jogging ahead of the Gridiron.

1/29/2013: Little time for more than a short shakeout run.

  19. RUN
alright Prospect Park Long Run 8 mi 02:02 15:11 pace

1/27/2013: The day was still cold but a bit more tolerable. After two+ loops of the park, I was feeling OK but not great.

  20. RUN
alright Prospect Park Regular Run 3.5 mi 00:52 14:58 pace

1/25/2013: I don't think I've run in such cold before. I didn't see another soul in the park for at least half a mile.
