i did some pilates and leg circuits last night and i felt like a heavy, slow moving slug. my legs felt like i was running with weights. i had to stop and rest and stretch at the park.

i tore my left knee up 6 years ago and my right knee up 3 years ago. i've been messing with my stride and that seems to be helping.
I start off really slow, I shorten my stride and i talk to my joints. i say, "joints, just relax. relax. joints. relax." and after a few miles, they start to feel okay. then i pick up the pace.
after, ice (which i read you do) AND ibuprofin REALLY help. Also, i do squats with a heavy band. i have to strengthen ALL of the muscles surrounding my joints now. Good luck!

Yikes! that's dope that you have been able to bounce back from that. thanks for the tips. I just started strength training, so i'm hoping that helps too. i have much burning/building to do. btw, i'm reading Murakami's "What I Talk About When I Talk About Running" - it's pretty fresh, documents his thoughts while training for a marathon,he's a cool/quirky dude... you should pick it up if you haven't already!

i'm jealous!! i missed our team 20 miler cuz of this fucked up cough i've had for the last 2 weeks. i'm a lil worried cuz i'm pushing 3 weeks without running now.
hopefully the rest will be a blessing in the end
