good Filthy Fifty 00:49

⚑ - CrossFit WOD 251 [77 of 84 in 2009 (91.67% complete) - 19 in a row]

FILTHY FIFTY (subs in parentheses, all else as RXed)

For time:
* 50 tuck jumps, knees to chest (sub for 24" box jumps)
* 50 jumping pullups, as RXed
* 50 kettlebell swings, 35# KB, as RXed
* 50 walking lunges, as RXed
* 50 knees to elbows, as RXed
* 50 push press @ 2x25# DB (sub for 45# PP - 5# heavier than RX)
* 50 standing back extensions, 35# KB (sub for GHD Back Extensions - heavier than RX)
* 50 DB thrusters @ 2x20# DB (sub for wall balls - RXed weight)
* 50 full pushup burpees, jump 8" at end, as RXed - [did squat thrusts last time]
* 50 double unders, as RXed - [did single unders x 2 last time]

44:50.44. Considering this a baseline, because of the fact that all the events were PRs, except the new RXed burpees & double unders at the end. Burpees took 11:22.74 (vs 05:52.93 with squat thrusts last July), and double unders took 10:32.00 (vs 01:49.45 for single unders last time). Double unders are really hard when you just want to lay down. Mustering up that extra oomph to get the bounce high enough and not tense up is difficult. Tensing up means you do two double unders in a row, or sometimes just one, which is the reason for the 10:32 showing.

Yeah, damn. PR was 33:12.42, but that's squat thrusts & single unders. If I add the 15 minute difference to that time (diff between the easy stuff and today's mayhem), last time would be 47:24.78, which would make today's effort a best by 2:34.34. I'll punt the July time out of my record book when I don't embarrass myself with a 12 minute burpees split, though.

Dance on, groove children.
