Was awesome running with the substantial CR crowd that turned up today. Met a lot of folks, ran most of the distance with Mahesh K and Saravanan - thanks for the company. Ended with a race pace run through IIT campus.

@Ramesh. 3/1 is something I picked up from Hal Higdon's schedule. Do first 3/4th of long run at LSD pace, last 1/4th at (near) target race pace.

@anand, that's a good workout. it will surely help for the reverse split but challenging one to preserve the energy and push later.

Yeah Ramesh. I believe the theory is that it helps in a strong finish. And if one can remember to hold the correct form in the last 1/4th one has cracked it. I often forget to hold form when running all out.

yes. form is important. this workout, interval, hill workouts and of course weight training really helps at the later stage of the marathon
