My husband, the Voice of Reason, offers: "It's a tough day when you call 15 miles a non-success." But this run was supposed to be 20. And after 10 it hurt like a mother. At 13 it found me standing ankle-deep in a creek, weeping noisily (thank goodness those mountain bikers happened by and forced me to compose myself :). Mileage notwithstanding, I have not been able to run more than 14 miles without serious pain. For four weeks now I've not been able to make my long-run goals and it's frustrating.
Just as I completed that last sentence, I got a call from one of my friends (a fellow instructor and uber-athlete) and I unloaded my doubts on her so I don't have to bug you guys. Then she gave me a huge pep talk. Now I'm going to go have another little weep. I'll try to keep it down this time. :)

Dang girl! I feel for you. I really do. I was supposed to run La Jolla Half Marathon today but backed out due to the tightness I have been feeling in my IT Bands lately. I ran today thinking they were better but ... at the end of 6 miles, they were there to remind me that it is back to hot baths, stretching, and the foam roller.

15 miles is nothing to shake a stick at! Good luck pushing through and reaching your goals - your updates are always inspiring, so I know you'll be able to do it.

Sorry for the rough patch you have been having. Seems we all are feeling some sort of frustration with funning lately. One month to go to Rock-n-Roll! You will do great. Keep a positive attitude!!
