This was supposed to be 18, and was supposed to be coastal but I'm uncharacteristically not bummed out. :) I'm starting to think middle distance is my thing. Still gonna do everything I can to train for, and finish, the marathon, but after that might stick to 1/2s and other things. After 13 miles of light rain and Snail Dodging: Nature's Way of Making a Long Run More Interesting, my left IT/glute/knee issues started to demand attention and I did the responsible thing, which was to stop pounding on them. :) A little adjustment on Monday, then I'll be back at it....


Way to go! 14 miles - that's not slacking!!!

You know, I am learning that I am not good at the short stuff like sprint triathlons and 10k races. Excited to see how HIM and IM go.

That was the smart thing. You'll be amazed at how many on the marathon course are badly injured at the start. I learned several years ago that marathons aren't my thing. Of course, it took 12 of them for it to finally sink in.
