  1. RUN
alright OKC Memorial Half Marathon! 13.1 mi 02:54 13:16 pace

I did it! Definitely was not feeling my best. Had some pretty serious back pain that slowed me down big time the last 3-4 miles. Not a fast finish but it's one that I'm happy with. Thanks... read more

Thanks for starting it with me! Sorry about your back pain! You should've hollered at me, I would've walked it with you. I looked around and just figured you had gone ahead of me, since I was slowing down so much. I'm really proud of us both for finishing our first OKCMM. Have a great vacation!

You did great! I liked starting out slow, as my legs were still feeling like lead, but it was good loosening up there towards the middle. I admit though, that last miler was a killer! Thank you for running with me!

I haven't tried the foam roller yet, need to get one of those...and running shoes...and warm weather running clothes...and hydration bottles... and race registrations.... Can't wait for the summer when we become a 2 income family instead of one :) Thanks for the encouragement, plan on a slow and easy 3 miles today, 4 on Wednesday, 2 on Thursday and 6 on Friday. Then I'll be in Arkansas with my in laws for the weekend where I will eat too much and not exercise enough! Ha.

I use an app on my phone and it tells me through my headphones every 5 minutes what my time, distance, and pace are. I felt awesome at the beginning of this run today and at 10 minutes I had averaged a 7.6mph pace! That's awesome for the first mile but I was definately wishing I hadn't used up all my engery a couple miles down the road!

Sounds good Amy! I'll find you on Sat morning at NHP. My leg feels pretty good, not 100% but not crappy either! My normal pace is around a 10 min. for training runs, but I've been around 12 with the injury. We should be okay and it would be great to have motivation and support for this run! (my longest ever too!) I hope for 10, but will see how I feel at mile 4.5 for that extra mile.
