Wow! This week crumbled into chaos. Thankfully tomorrow should get back to the regularly scheduled program - an hour with the PT first thing in the morning!
Lol. That sounds like each and every day for me, it's always a struggle to get out the door and do something. Have fun at PT!

Eeeeewwww! Gross yucky guy without a shirt and wearing VERY short shorts in the hotel gym this morning. I'll try again this evening when everyone's (hopefully) at dinner.
For the record, you could smell him from the hallway with the door to the gym area closed.

Disappointing? Not at all. You're still activing and striving to improve your overall health. It would be disappointing to learn you're giving up and becoming a couch potato. Don't stress having to take things a little slower than what your mind wants to do. You'll reach your goals even if it can't happen overnight.

You not only don't disappoint us, you inspire us with your determination! Walking is one way I've managed to stay in shape when unable to run, and it does a great job of burning calories with minimal impact on the body. Do you also have access to a rowing machine? Keep it going, Anne!

Anne! there is No NEED ever to run if you dislike it. Walking is great, and any variety of machines at the gym are fine, althought Bob above is partial to the rower. You are doing very well, seeing all sorts of wins with your fitness journey, if you dont want to run, well, don't! Love to see ALL your workouts.

@Bill H. & Danielle - Thanks! It is very good to be home.
@ Holly - yeah, the Charlotte race is a hot mess...it screws up traffic in town for days. I am hoping this year they learn from last year's mistakes. In 2013 I'd like to run the Outer Banks 1/2.

Today is/was a 'Bad Day'. If I ever get home maybe I'll do a late-night something on the treadmill. Maybe I will just go to bed and pout.
You'll feel so good after a little TM workout. Do it!

I personally don't do anything too much different for the rain than I would for any other run. I just let the temperature and wind chill be my guide as to how to dress. A nice thin pair of non-cotton socks, and a hat with a good brim to keep the rain off your face are probably the two most important things. A little Body Glide on your feet if you are worried about blisters. I've found any attempt to try to stay dry to be futile.

Do you do any proprioceptive stuff for that ankle? Balancing on one leg while doing stuff with the other leg? Preferably barefoot.
over 1 year ago • Like
I do! And almost always barefoot unless I'm somewhere I have to wear shoes. My trainer also incorporates a lot of that into our sessions, though I wear shoes since we meet at the Y - I get pretty squigged out seeing people use equipment and mats without shoes there. They are not good about cleaning after!

There's an interesting exercise. I hope that tendinitis gets better soon. I've had it in a few places, though not the ankle, so I feel your pain. Take care, Anne.

I see you're still working on recovery. So sorry the road's been so long. Just keep plugging away and doing your PT "homework". Stay focused. Little gains will begin to snowball and pickup momentum. Before u know it, BOOM! You'll be back ripping up the concrete with metal blaring thru UR buds. U R the metal chick right? Evanescence, Lacuna Coil, Within Temptation? I've been gone a long! I might be confusing u with w/ someone else.
